New Scanners
When I worked in retail we got an upgrad and instead of having to punch the products number into the computer we got a brand new barcode scanner. At first I thought this was going to be a great improvement, but it turns out that it was almost more of a pain trying to get a clean scan on the products tags. I worked at a store with lots of little items like key chains and trinkets and these early barcode scanners struggled to read the bars. So most times we were still punching in the numbers anyway. These days it seems that scanners work well for the most part, except when they scan and ring up the wrong price!
