Car or TV

I no longer have a car and surprisingly I rarely miss it. Perhaps that’s because I no longer have to pay car insurance or worry about trying to find the best price for auto insurance online. It really frees up your budget when you can take that expense out. Not to mention the related expenses of maintenance and the always rising expense of gas. What I do miss are those auto insurance commercials on television. Oh wait, no, it’s just the television part that I miss.

The Ikea Curse

There’s only one furniture catalog that we get regularly – that being the Swedish furniture bible written by the Swedish furniture god Ikea. But what really annoys me about their catalog is it just shows you what you can buy – if you not only can get to an Ikea store, but also have the means to transport it back to your place. To say the least, it's not the easiest task to carry a new kitchen set home on the metro now is it…

Cafe in my Home

The other week I went shopping for a new coffee maker. What I’ve been using is your basic big American style pot of drip coffee. What I wanted was a chic French frothy coffee making machine. Who would have known there are so many coffee makers to choose from? But then again, this is the café culture of Europe. But at last I found a mid-range coffee machine and can now engine the café taste in my very own flat.

Business Tool

If there is one tool any small business needs these days it is a computer. And if there is another tool that any small business needs these days it is a phone (although sometimes a computer can serve as a phone and thus cut costs, but that is another story my friends…).To do business people need to be able to get a hold of you and to get a hold of you you need small business phone systems.

Spring Time

Spring is right around the corner or, depending on where you live, buried under ten feet of snow. Regardless of where it is, it’s coming… someday. And that can mean only one thing and one thing only: no more sweatpants and sweatshirts. It will be time to put on the shorts, t-shirts and sandals. The downside of this, of course, is it means it is time for the annual race for weight loss.
